SOCIAL MEDIA GUIDELINES

Social Media Guidelines

Formulation

This section defines matters that should be noted when using social media for the ESMOD's related parties (students, faculty, staff, etc.).

The Definition of Social Media

Electronic media such as blogs, social networking services (SNS), video sharing sites, electronic bulletin boards, etc., in which users transmit information and form communications.

Cautions for posting on SNS

  • 1 Compliance with Laws and Regulations, Confidentiality and Handling of Confidential Information Please do not post confidential or personal information obtained through internships or courses in cooperation with companies without permission. When quoting or introducing other people's work on social networking sites, blogs, etc., please use it within the scope permitted by copyright law. Inappropriate posting may result in compensation for damages.
  • 2 Accurate Information Dissemination Before submitting a post, please make sure that its content is not false. Postings that cannot be verified will be prohibited. Also, not all information on social networking sites is correct. Spreading information when the source of the information cannot be verified is prohibited. Keep in mind, that even an innocent joke can become a social problem.
  • 3 Respect for Human Rights and Ethics Posting of defamatory or discriminatory content, etc., against specific individuals or groups is prohibited. It may lead to defamation or violation of human rights.
  • 4 Protection of Privacy Do not post private information about others without their consent. You may be required to compensate for damages due to invasion of privacy. When posting a group photo, please ask the people in the photo for permission to post it. Please do not post photos that include other people without their permission, even if it is not a group photo, as it is an infringement of their portrait and privacy rights. Please try to avoid posting personal information as much as possible.
  • 5 IDs, Passwords Management Please keep your ID and password secure. Avoid passwords that are easy for others to guess, use blacked-out strings of characters whenever possible, and update passwords regularly to prevent unauthorized use by others.

Other Points of Concern

Suspected violations of these guidelines will be dealt with if we determine that they seriously damage the reputation of ESMOD Tokyo School. Unauthorized creation of accounts for public use using the school name is prohibited (this does not include registered names in closed groups of related parties only). The school logo/logotype is the intellectual property of ESMOD. Reproduction or duplication without permission is prohibited. If you wish to use this information in your activities, please contact the Public Relations Department. These guidelines may be updated without notice.
