TRIAL LESSON

【December 4th】Draping a flared skirt

What is a trial lesson class at ESMOD Tokyo ?
This is a class for international students* who are considering enrolling in ESMOD Tokyo.
You can experience a part of our regular class and actually sense the teacher’s teaching method.

The theme of this class is “Draping a flared skirt”.
What is draping ?
Draping is the process of placing a piece of cloth directly on the body (mannequin) to cultivate an eye for reading the beauty of volume and line.
One of the methods advocated by ESMOD is to develop an aesthetic eye by finding volume and balance with one’s own senses, rather than relying on centimeters.

ESMOD, which was originally founded by Alexis Lavigne, the first person in the world to create the mannequin, places great importance on “seeing in three dimensions” in creation. It is precisely because of this that ESMOD offers classes in which students learn about the structure of clothing using the draping technique that was born in Paris, France. This month, you can experience the basics of draping.

If you are interested in enrolling in ESMOD and would like to experience ESMOD classes, please join us for this class!

A freelance pattern maker who works on stage costumes and fashion shows.
