On October 25 (Sat), we’re hosting a hands-on trial lesson where you can try draping a dress using a mini mannequin (stockman).
At ESMOD — founded by Alexis Lavigne, the inventor of the mannequin (stockman) — we value the ability to “see in three dimensions.”
Through the French-born technique of draping, you’ll intuitively learn the fundamentals of garment structure and design.
This is a rare opportunity to experience the basics of draping, one of the core methods of fashion creation.
💡 Recommended for:
・High school students who aspire to work in the fashion industry
・University or vocational students considering enrollment at ESMOD
・Working adults who want to relearn the foundations of fashion
・Anyone curious about trying draping for the first time

What is Draping?
Draping is a technique where fabric is shaped directly on a mannequin (stockman) to create a garment.
Rather than relying on numbers and flat patterns, you use your own sense of touch and vision to understand the fabric’s volume and lines.
This approach helps develop a strong sense of balance and aesthetics.
Experience the creative foundation that ESMOD values most in fashion education.
